Lovense Edge 2 vs LELO HUGO 2: Adjustable Neck or Sculpted Shape

The Lovense Edge 2 and the LELO HUGO 2 are both app-controllable prostate massagers built around two motors and designed for hands-free use. Both brands target the same territory: solo or couple-based P-spot stimulation, no hands required. Their spec sheets diverge, however, on ergonomics, the scope of remote control, and advertised battery life. This comparison sets side by side the information published by Lovense and by LELO, without any testing on our part.

Flexible neck versus sculpted shape

This is the most visible design difference. Lovense presents the Edge 2 as adjustable: its flexible neck bends to fit body shape and position—standing, sitting, or lying down—to maintain contact with the P-spot and perineum. The brand makes this a central selling point, with illustrations of several positions. LELO takes the opposite approach: the HUGO 2 is described as “sculpted” to fit the body, with a fixed geometry whose exact measurements are given on the page—104 x 107 x 41 mm for an insertable length of 72 mm. No mention of any adjustable part. On the Lovense side, dimensions aren’t published, only the weight of 151.3 g versus 121 g for the LELO model. Two different philosophies: adjustable on one side, preset and precisely measured on the other.

App: local Bluetooth or remote control

Both products are advertised as app-controllable, but the scope described isn’t the same. LELO states a Bluetooth connection to the smartphone, which unlocks six additional modes on top of the four available on the device, for ten settings in total; the app is also presented as an editorial space with more than 4,000 articles. The page makes no mention of control from another city or country. Lovense, for its part, emphasizes that a partner can take control of the Edge 2 via Lovense Remote “from any distance,” and talks about unlimited vibration patterns rather than a fixed number. The app, according to the brand, also allows both motors to be controlled together or independently—one on the prostate, the other on the perineum.

Ecosystem and syncing

Lovense devotes a large part of its page to pairing between devices. The Edge 2 can, according to the brand, be paired with the Max 2: the masturbator’s movements trigger corresponding vibrations on the prostate, with faster rhythms producing stronger vibrations. The same principle applies with the Gush 2 Motion, which the page describes as controllable by a partner alongside the Edge 2, or with the Solace Pro used as the main controller to sync the prostate massage with interactive content. The HUGO 2 page mentions nothing of the sort: LELO describes a device connected to the app, with no syncing between toys or with content. For anyone wanting to combine two toys controlled together, that information exists for Lovense but not for LELO.

Battery life, noise, standards, and warranty

Battery life figures differ significantly: Lovense states up to 130 minutes of use and 120 hours of standby for the Edge 2, without specifying charging time. LELO claims up to one hour of use, a 90-day standby, roughly two hours of charging, and an automatic shut-off after 20 minutes. On noise, Lovense places the Edge 2 at 43 dB on a comparative scale, while LELO states a maximum level below 60 dB—two different measurement methods, so these should be treated as rough figures as claimed by each manufacturer. For waterproofing, the Edge 2 is rated IPX7 with full submersion, while the HUGO 2 is “100% waterproof.” Finally, LELO claims compliance with the ISO 3533 standard and a 2-year warranty extended by a 10-year quality guarantee, while Lovense offers 1 year.

Materials and box contents

Both brands claim a soft, body-safe silicone. LELO specifies that the HUGO 2 pairs this silicone with ABS plastic and details the box contents: USB charging cable, satin storage pouch, warranty card, and manual. The Lovense page describes an “ultra-soft” silicone and recommends a water-based lubricant, but the box contents detail points to an FAQ question whose answer isn’t displayed. LELO also publishes the frequencies of its two motors, 130 Hz and 108 Hz, a figure Lovense doesn’t disclose. Those comparing raw spec sheets will therefore find more hard numbers from LELO.

Where the HUGO 2 does better

The HUGO 2 is the more thoroughly documented of the two on the technical front: LELO publishes full dimensions, insertable length, weight, battery capacity, both motors’ frequencies, and charging time. The brand claims compliance with the ISO 3533 standard for intimate products and offers extensive coverage—2 years of warranty followed by a 10-year quality guarantee—where Lovense offers 1 year. Its 90-day standby far exceeds the Edge 2’s 120 hours, and the automatic shut-off after 20 minutes is a usage safeguard absent from the Lovense spec sheet. The LELO app adds six modes on top of the four built-in settings.

Edge 2 or HUGO 2: which one to choose?

The Lovense Edge 2 — The Edge 2 is the better fit if you want to adjust the neck angle to your position, hand control over to a partner at a distance via Lovense Remote, or sync the device with a Max 2, a Gush 2 Motion, or interactive content. Its claimed 130-minute battery life is also the higher of the two.

The LELO HUGO 2 — The HUGO 2 is aimed more at those who prefer a fixed shape with fully disclosed specs, the ISO 3533 standard, a clearly defined number of modes, and long warranty coverage, with local Bluetooth control sufficient for solo use or use with a partner present.

Frequently asked questions

Can both of these massagers be used in the shower?

Both brands claim so. Lovense states that the Edge 2 is designed to be fully waterproof, certified IPX7, suitable for full submersion in the bath or shower. LELO describes the HUGO 2 as “100% waterproof” and likewise presents it as usable in the bath and shower. Both pages refer to their manuals for cleaning instructions.

Can my partner control the device remotely?

For the Edge 2, Lovense says yes: the page describes solo or couple play “from any distance” via the Lovense Remote app, with the option to hand control over to a partner. The HUGO 2 page only mentions a Bluetooth connection between the toy and the smartphone and access to additional modes; no long-distance control is described there.

Which one is quieter?

Impossible to say for certain, since the two brands don’t measure the same way and we haven’t tested either device. Lovense places the Edge 2 at 43 dB on its comparative scale, between a library and a conversation. LELO states a maximum noise level below 60 dB for the HUGO 2. Both figures are manufacturer claims, not comparable measurements.
